Magadan to Harvest First Produce from New Greenhouse Complex in February 2026

MAGADAN – The Magadan Region has marked a major milestone in its 2025 year-end review with the completion of the first phase of a high-tech greenhouse investment project. Operated by Agro Invest LLC, the facility is set to deliver its first harvest of locally grown vegetables in early February 2026.

The complex currently spans 1.84 hectares, with plans to expand to a total of 3 hectares. Once fully operational, it is expected to produce 1,070 tons of tomatoes, cucumbers, and greens annually.

The project, financed through a combination of private investment and Sberbank loans, is currently in a "test run" phase. Engineers are fine-tuning the climate control and technological systems to ensure optimal growing conditions. While the first produce will hit shelves this winter, the official commissioning of the site is slated for July 2026, following final landscaping and infrastructure work.

This initiative is a direct response to a 2023 presidential directive aimed at doubling greenhouse production in the Magadan and Chukotka regions by 2026. By boosting local yields, the complex serves as a critical step toward enhancing food security and reducing the Far East’s dependence on expensive vegetable imports.
