Mikhail Mishustin visited Mayak Park in Magadan
Mayak Park, on the site of a former vacant lot, was opened in 2019. A total of four phases of improvements are planned.
The first stage was realized as a result of winning the All-Russian contest of the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment. The construction works involving terracing of the main slope, installation of utility pavilion, stop pavilion, creation of ‘Lighthouse’ entrance group, amphitheatre, rainwater drainage network, art object ‘I love Magadan’, children's playgrounds, recreation areas, small architectural forms were performed.
In 2022, the "Pier" viewpoint was reconstructed, recreation areas, flower beds, photo zone were arranged, fencing and lighting were installed, sports ground and parking lots were equipped.
In 2024, the section of the territory from the sports ground to the viewpoint "Pier" - "Zaryadye" bridge is being improved. The project includes a crosswalk connecting the sports field to the pier and cultural and community center, and improvements to the surrounding area. The total length of the crossing is 126 meters. The project became the winner of the VII All-Russian competition of the best projects for the creation of a comfortable urban environment with the term of realization in 2023-2024.
Construction of the park's cultural and community center is also underway as part of the third phase of improvements. The complex includes a two-light multifunctional space for exhibitions and temporary museum expositions, a conference hall for 100 seats, a cafe for 50 seats, and a tourist visit center.
The fourth stage assumes:
creation of a pedestrian promenade on the Admiral A.I.Nagaev Alley;
arrangement of pavilions for small businesses, recreation areas;
creating a children's play area;
formation of exposition sites;
landscaping and construction of a cascading fountain.
The project also includes areas for children's play, walking, an exposition area and a commercial activity zone. The work is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
