Magadan region entered TOP-15 of the National Rating of Regions Investment Climate

Kolyma took the 7th place in the jubilee X National Rating of the Investment Climate of the Russian Federation, having risen by two positions.

"Magadan region has improved its positions in the National Rating of the Investment Climate Status. SPIEF-2024 announced the results and named the best regions. We took 7th place together with the Chechen Republic. The assessment of the business community shows that joint work of the government and business provides growth factors in a number of indicators’ - said the Governor of the Magadan region Sergey Nosov.

Irina Penevskaya, Minister of Economic Development, Investment Policy and Innovations of the Magadan region, said that eight Far Eastern regions were included in the TOP-15 of the National Rating, among which the Magadan region is in the 2nd place.

"In recent years, the region's investment climate has changed significantly, and a considerable amount of work has been carried out to improve the business environment. If we talk about the National Rating, we have retained our positions in many indicators compared to last year. I note a very good increase in the indicators related to administrative and coercive pressure on business. Entrepreneurs highly appreciated the channels of direct communication with the region's leadership, as well as information resources. This year, for the first time, elements of the Regional Investment Standard were introduced into the National Rating, where the region also scored highly. At the same time, there are problems with the provision of infrastructure for business, as well as with some issues of support for business entities. This is our work for the coming year," said Irina Penevskaya.

The national rating of the investment climate in Russia's regions has been compiled by Strategic Initiative Agency since 2014 following the instructions of President Vladimir Putin. The rating is calculated according to 70 indicators in four areas: regulatory environment, institutions for business, infrastructure and resources, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

For the sixth time Moscow is the leader in the National Rating. The Republic of Tatarstan and the Nizhny Novgorod Region ranked second, followed by the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Moscow and Tyumen Regions.
