A memorandum of co-operation was signed between the Government of the Magadan region and FESCO
The Magadan region delegation headed by Governor Sergey Nosov is taking part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024).
Sergey Nosov outlined the main tasks of the delegation at the main business event of the year, reports Editorial Office Regions of Russia.
The Governor noted that among the key goals for the Magadan region is the signing of a number of important agreements aimed at socio-economic development of the region, implementation of infrastructure, tourism and social projects, including medicine, which have not yet been disclosed. As well as maintaining business relationships with established partners.
"On the margins of SPIEF there is always an opportunity to discuss the problems, and most importantly - the prospects for the development of the region, to understand where to move and in what direction," - emphasized Sergey Nosov.
The Governor will also hold a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations at the forum and take part in specialized sections.
On 6 June, Sergey Nosov and FESCO President Arkady Korostelev signed a memorandum of cooperation in the presence of Ekaterina Lyakhova, Business Development Director of Rosatom State Corporation, the press service of the transport company reported.
The Government of the Magadan region and FESCO will consider the possibilities of cooperation in order to modernise the infrastructure of the Magadan Sea Fishing Port, taking into account the creation of a centre for complex servicing of ships on the basis of the port.
According to the document, one of the possible elements of cooperation between FESCO and the Government of Magadan region in the implementation of the infrastructure project may be the establishment of a center for integrated service of fishing and transport fleet vessels on the basis of Magadan Sea Fishing Port.
"FESCO has historically had strong ties with Magadan. For us, this is one of the most important regions for both short sea shipping and, most importantly, for refrigerated container transportation. Therefore, we highly appreciate the prospects of modernization of the Magadan Sea Fishing Port both for our Group and for the Kolyma economy as a whole. Cooperation with the Government of Magadan region will allow to develop the most successful solution for the implementation of this infrastructure project’, - said Arkady Korostelev, FESCO President.
Sergey Nosov, Governor of the Magadan region, emphasized that one of the most important events of SPIEF will be the plenary session, which all forum participants are looking forward to with great interest. It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to speak at the plenary session on 7 June.
