The investment team of the Magadan region studied the experience of tourism development in Kamchatka

The Magadan delegation visited several construction sites in the region, got acquainted with tourist industry facilities and discussed the prospects of increasing investment activity in regional municipalities with the management of the Kamchatka Development Corporation.

The delegation that visited the peninsula included Valentina Zolotykh, Head of the Investment Attraction Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Magadan region, and Yuri Agafonov, Chairman of the local branch of Delovaya Rossia.

Based on Valentina Zolotykh's assessment, the Far Eastern regions can borrow from Kamchatka's successful experience of tourism development, creation of new excursion programmes and formation of modern infrastructure of the industry.

She also spoke about the development of the hospitality and leisure industry in the Magadan region. In particular, the renovation of the "Talaya" sanatorium, where unique therapeutic muds are used for the recovery of patients.

Valentina Zolotykh noted a comfortable flight from Magadan by Yak-40 aircraft operated by Kamchatka Aviation Company. Owing to the regular air service, Kolyma residents can visit Kamchatka more often, even in the format of a weekend visit, she said.
