Sergey Nosov, Governor of Magadan Oblast, took part in the plenary session of the Minex Mountain Club. It was held today at the Magadan Municipal Center of Culture. The topic of the meeting was personnel training for mining companies and synchronisation of educational processes with the needs of mining companies in the Far Eastern Federal District. The head of the region made a welcoming speech.

"I welcome the participants and guests of Minex, which has returned to Kolyma! Now there is a trend in the region to switch from placer gold to native gold - we will support this, because it is a serious capital investment, it is an employment, practically on a permanent basis, an opportunity to solve the issues and tasks that the region has to address in terms of population growth. For this purpose, we are creating infrastructure within the framework of the master plan developed by order of the President of Russia and already being implemented," said Sergey Nosov.

Minex brought together managers and employees of mining companies, as well as representatives of executive authorities, educational and research organisations of the Far East, and development institutes of the region.

The program of the Mining Club included various events to discuss the prospects for the development of the mining industry in the Far East:

round table "North: the territory of sustainable development": supporting the activities of the participants of the North Research and Education Centre, barriers to identifying new deposits, qualitative study of the material composition of ores and rocks, and the potential of scientific economic research for the region's mining business;

seminars "Strategy for the development of lubricants "Gazpromneft-SM in a changing market environment" and "Chetra Technology in the Magadan region";

master class "Gold Rush: from idea to production": documentation support for prospecting, evaluation and exploration work on gold deposits, rational environmental management and legalization of activities, exploration and risk management: ways to effective investment

business session "Worth its weight in gold: current product solutions from Sberbank for subsurface users".

The project "Green Personnel in the Mining Industry" was also presented at Minex, which is aimed at training a new generation of qualified environmental specialists in the field of subsoil use for the Far East mining companies.

As Sergey Davydov, CEO of Good-Ecology, noted earlier, the project is designed for future environmental engineers and engineering students in the mining, energy and construction industries.

On 29 March, members of the Minex Mining Club will leave on an industrial tour to the Susumanzoloto digger in the Tenkinsky District. A tour around Magadan will also be organised for the visiting delegates.

Minex is being held for the first time since the pandemic. The forum was last held in Magadan in July 2018.

At the VIII Eastern Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin set the task to allocate a separate section for the study of the Far East subsoil in the federal project ‘Geology: Revival of a Legend’, which has been implemented since 2022.

As Vladimir Putin noted, the country has every opportunity for a multiple growth of the extractive industries, including for the scarce strategic types of raw materials that are in demand in the economy of the future.
