According many Russian indicators, Kolyma (Magadan region) has started to go into the lead and has become a territory for important pilot projects again

At the final meeting of the Government of the Magadan region in 2023, the Governor Sergei Nosov, summing up the results of the year, noted that today everywhere, even beyond the borders of the region, people know about its success.

“A number of our programs, including the pilot project “Reproductive Health”, are known far beyond the Magadan region. After five years of work, we have achieved significant results and gone into the lead that would have been impossible if our President Vladimir Putin had not supported us. We started to renovate schools, and now we are building new kindergartens and educational institutions. The other fields, such as culture and healthcare, are also developing.”

However, in our near future there are far more important tasks. In 2024, we plan to complete the construction of some unique facilities, such as an airport, a cultural development center, a school in the Third micro district, a maternity hospital, and a care home for the elderly and so on. It seems impossible to list all of them.

Having a reserve, we have all chances for a quick start next year, so now our paramount task is to settle all the formalities with agreements in order to receive the financial support and begin the construction on January 9 – on the first working day of next year.

The Magadan region entered the TOP 10 of the National Investment Climate Rating for the first time. Kolyma is one of the five leading regions in terms of broadband Internet connection spread among households. The region is also included in the TOP 3 regions in organizing summer holidays for children, it takes the 4th place for the employment of graduates of secondary special educational institutions.

“Leading positions also imply a high responsibility to the Kolyma people,” the Governor Sergei Nosov stressed at the meeting.
