At the Russia exhibition-forum “Russia” the governor of the Magadan region, Sergei Nosov, presented the successful results of Kolyma and stressed the most attractive places for tourists
On November 14, the Magadan Region presented its achievements within the Day of the region at the international exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNH.
The exhibition is organised by Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The achievements of the region and plans for further development were presented to the guests of the pavilion and the federal media by the Governor of the Magadan region Sergei Nosov.
“Our stand is not a report on the production achievements of our region. We wanted to show the residents of the Russian Federation what success the Magadan region has achieved in recent years, during the period when President Vladimir Putin said that the Far East is a priority for Russia's development for the 21st century.
We wanted to show that the perception of Kolyma is more likely outdated. If you pay a bit more attention, you can see, that Kolyma is, all above, about people, a beautiful territory and a good quality of life,” the governor said.
When asked what he would advise guests to visit on Kolyma, Sergei Nosov replied:
“The square of our region is 462 thousand square kilometers, there is a lot to visit, but the ways from one sight to another are rather long. So you need to have patience or time. Speaking about conditions for tourism, don’t worry, we create everything as we can. First of all, Magadan is a great fishing, you can literally fish from the embankment. From the windows of your apartments, you can watch killer whales swimming by. I recommend visiting Zavyalova Island, where a unique experiment is taking place to restore the population of snow sheep and musk oxen. The island is inhabited by red-book sea lions and fishing is really fantastic there.
You can visit Jack London Lake, Dancing Grayling Lake, and raft on rivers or hike trails.
We are preparing tours where you can see the gold mining. Or you can participate in its washing by visiting our “Stitch welding” festival, which takes place annually at the end of July. The profession of a prospector is very difficult, but a fart is its an indispensable part. This feature is reflected in our exhibition, where you can win a million rubles in half an hour. The only thing you need to do is to get more gold than the rest of the competitors. The winners have already been representatives of different regions of the country.
We are developing medical tourism. Kolyma is famous for its hot mineral springs and we are working in this field. Next year we are launching the Talaya Sanatorium. We believe that this will be one of the best resorts not only in the Far East, but also in the whole country. There are other hot springs that also are worth paying attention to.
To ensure the tourist flow, we are building a new airport. This year we are starting to build a 4-star hotel with 120 beds with a view of Nagaev Bay.
We are preparing to welcome guests and prepare small business for the flow of tourists,” explained Sergei Nosov, Governor of the Magadan region.
In total, the exhibition-forum “Russia” will last 161 days and will run until April 12, 2024. According to forecasts, 12 million people will be able to visit it. All this time, cultural and entertainment events, rich business and educational programs will be waiting for the guests. Pavilion of the Magadan region is number 75. It is located in the zone of cultural projects.
