At the exhibition-forum “Russia”, the Governor of the Magadan Region, Sergei Nosov, spoke about the prospects for the reconstruction of the fishing port
Sergei Nosov presented the successful results of the region and plans for further development of Kolyma within the Day of the region at the international exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNH.
As part of the presentation of the Magadan region, Governor Sergei Nosov spoke about plans to restore the fishing port, stressing the need in preparatory work that includes disposal of Nagaev Bay from sunken ships, which is being carried out on behalf of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
Answering a question from the media about the coastal protection of Nagayev Bay, which was commissioned by President Vladimir Putin, the governor of the Magadan region explained what prospects the execution of this instruction opens for the region.
“I am glad to have such an instruction and it will definitely be fulfilled, at least because of it involving the joint work of the region and the Government of the Russian Federation. The project is currently under state examination. It focuses on the port infrastructure, berthing walls for small-size vessels, including cruise ships.
The paramount task is to clean the waters of Nagaev Bay and, above all, the fishing port, otherwise it will be impossible to carry out engineering surveys and construction work.
I met fishermen and representatives of logistics companies. Fishermen of the Far East stressed the need in having a port in Magadan. Kamchatka, Primorye, and Khabarovsk Krai also support this project.
Moreover, our domestic companies are ready to participate in public-private partnership in the construction of the infrastructure of the fishing port, which consists of both hydraulic structures and the mooring walls.
People see what is being done, and when businessmen trust the authorities, everything works out," explained Sergei Nosov, Governor of the Magadan Region.
