“Far-Eastern Express” will introduce passengers of the Moscow metro to the Magadan region and other regions of the Far Eastern Federal District
The special branded “Far-Eastern Express” train has launched in the Moscow metro for the sixth time. It will run along the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line for six months.
The train was launched in response to hold lots of educational and patriotic events “Days of the regions of the Far East in Moscow – 2023”, which began at the end of September. The first start for the train was given by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev.
“It has already become a tradition that we launch the “Far-Eastern Express” once a year along the underground lines of our capital. We want to tell Moscow residents and guests about the Far East: about its nature, what is happening there now, how we are building enterprises and so on. The Russian Government has paid more attention to the Far East. Today it is necessary to increase the number of railway lines, build new tunnels, and expand port facilities. Now there are more workplaces in the Far East. Within the investment projects, which are being implemented in the region with the support of the state, the Government of the Russian Federation has created 125 thousands workplaces. Wages in the territories of advanced development are 40% higher than average ones in the country. We invite all residents of our country to discover the Far East,” Yuri Trutnev said.
The “Far-Eastern Express” introduces metro passengers to all regions of the Far Eastern Federal District – their interesting history, unique culture, amazing nature, main sights and limitless opportunities that open up not only to tourists, but also to anyone who wants to move to the Far East for living, studying and working here.
The “Far-Eastern Express” will tell you about the Magadan region, its harsh climate, gold and silver mining, and the people living here.
“What comes to your mind first when mentioning Magadan? The two main associations are strong frosts and gold. And it is no coincidence: this harsh land with its frosts below 60 degrees is called precious. Kolyma is the place, where produce the most gold and silver in Russia. This is reflected in the design of the carriage dedicated to the northern region. The interior design is dedicated to the main jewel of this region – people. They preserve the traditions of the ancient land, build its present and future and hospitably welcome travelers to reveal all the secrets of the North to them," the organizers of the “Far-Eastern Express” noted.
According to the Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Alexei Chekunkov, the “Far-Eastern Express” meets the desire that any person in Russia and other places feels – to visit the Far East.
“We are working to ensure that, once came here, a person would want to stay in the Far East for studying, working or living. The decisions of the Russian Government are aimed at making the Far East more comfortable and attractive for people. It is very important that this year there is a special carriage with drawings for children, for our younger generation. We are making the Far East step by step friendlier for the young,” said the head of the Ministry of the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.
Every year, the “Far-Eastern Express” is replenished with a new themed carriage. Last year it was a car dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the famous Far Eastern researcher Vladimir Arsenyev. Two years ago it was a “restaurant carriage” telling about Far Eastern cuisine, and this year the special feature of the train was a “children's” carriage that introduces young metro passengers to the regions of the Far East, its nature and inhabitants. On the outside of the carriage there are animals that are considered to be symbols of the Far Eastern Federal District, inside children will be able to learn interesting facts about geography, do some tasks to check their ingenuity, listen to entertaining stories and draw vivid pictures.
The first and last carriages will provide passengers with information about life, studies and work in the Far East. Numerous socio-economic and demographic programs are presented here, including “Far Eastern mortgage”, “Far Eastern neighborhood”, “Far Eastern hectare”, as well as master plans for the development of territories and educational programs. In addition, residents and guests of the capital will be able to get acquainted with the stories of real people who moved to the Far East from other regions.
Another themed carriage, named “Rest in the Far East”, speaks for itself. It is dedicated to the tourist opportunities of the Far Eastern Federal District regions. This year, the focus is on regional events. Each region presents their own holidays that attract tourists from all over the world.
The carriage “Made in the Far East” is also worth paying attention to. Contrary to expectations, there you can find not only our souvenirs, but also information about the key production achievements of the macro region, including the creation of airplanes, fighters, helicopters, ships and various special equipment.
It should also be noted that in most regional carriages there are QR codes, after scanning which passengers will be able to watch videos about the regions of the Far East.
The “Far-Eastern Express” is being launched on the eve of the international forum-exhibition “Russia” at VDNH. The Ministry of the Development of the Far East and the Arctic and the regions of the Far East are preparing their exhibition “We are the Far East”.
